IHOPU Symposium

If you’re like me, you read the title of this blog post and thought, “What in the world is a symposium?”. Well, theres on need to worry because my MacBook Pro is here to help. According to it’s dictionary, symposium means, “a conference or meeting to discuss a particular subject.” So, this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, IHOP-KC hosted a conference that all IHOPU students were required to attend.

Just as it’s definition implies, this conference had a particular subject: Islam. Some of the top teachers in the WORLD on this subject came and shared with us some of it’s history, teachings, popular attacks by muslims against the Bible, how to combat those attacks with truth, and many other things.

Most of the sessions were streamed live on http://ihopkc.org, but some of them held information that could’ve put certain people in danger if the right (or wrong, depending on how you look at it) people got their hands on it, and thus weren’t recorded.

My purpose in writing this blog is to highly encourage you to watch the archived sessions of the conference. There was so much information packed into these past three days that my head is kind of spinning right now. I’m so glad that I can go back and re-watch some of these sessions and gain even more understanding on these subjects because I know there is so much I missed. Please take some time over the next week or two to check out some of these teachings. If you don’t have time to watch them, download and read through the notes/powerpoint presentations. This is such a crucial subject that is highly neglected by the church today and it should be the exact opposite. Please take it seriously.
