Getting into Acts

I’m so close to being caught up on my Bible reading! I’m only about one day behind, and this weekend there is no reading assigned, so I’ll definitely be caught up completely by Christmas! Woot!

Well, it’s almost 10:00 and I’m exhausted and have to get to bed, so…. I’m gonna make this one quick. I finished up reading John and got into Acts today. As I was listening to Acts 2, verse 38 stood out to me. Peter was preaching in Jerusalem and said:

38…“Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

I know I just talked about baptism the other day, but it’s really important! In Mark 16:16, Jesus says that after you are baptized you will be saved and here Peter says that your sins will be forgiven and you will receive the Holy Spirit after you are baptized! Baptism is so fundamental to the Christian faith. “Repent… and be baptized”, Peter said. It’s not optional. It’s necessary to walk in the fullness of who you are in Christ Jesus. So, if you’ve never been baptized, go get baptized! Don’t you want the fullness of what God has for you?

Talk to you tomorrow! <3
