Always Faithful

Jesus is so faithful. He’s shown His faithfulness to me in a couple ways this week and I wanted to take a moment to briefly share them with you to testify of His goodness and encourage you all! :)

Firstly, I’ll say two words – relational wholeness. Relational wholeness is a class offered in the IHOP-KC community to staff members, students, and interns. It’s basically a few days of intense teaching and ministry that gets up close and personal with you and gives you the opportunity to let the Lord touch areas in your heart that you’ve never let Him near in the past – areas of pain, fear, bitterness, shame, etc. It’s goal is to do exactly what the title states – bring relational wholeness. My class in IHOPU was required to take a two-day relational wholeness “intensive” (if that’s what you wanna call it) this week.

Honestly, I went into it feeling pretty good about myself. I knew there were various things in my past that I wish wouldn’t have been, but I felt like I had both dealt with them all and been set free from the effects of them. Let me just say it right up front – I was wrong. He brought up things from deep within my heart that I did not expect. He brought up things that I thought I had dealt with already and things I didn’t even know I needed healing from! Yet through it all, He dealt with me so tenderly. As I surrendered to Him and allowed Him to see the hidden things, to touch the tender places, to let me revisit painful times in my life so that He could bring healing, He did just that. He doesn’t care what I’ve done or what’s been done to me throughout the course of my life. He’s washed me clean and has made me whole. I feel lighter and freer today than I did a few days ago. As I stand in awe once more of His tenderness and faithfulness to me, I’m reminded of David’s song in Psalm 103.

“Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me bless His holy name!… The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and rich in mercy… He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him.” -Psalm 103:1, 8-11 (emphasis added)

He is faithful. His mercy is never ending to those who fear Him. He’s faithful to love me through it all, and He’s faithful to heal and restore me when I open up and invite Him to.

Secondly, remember the blog about a ministry trip to Boulder, CO I posted a couple weeks ago? Remember how I said that I needed $250 before March 14th in order to go and was trusting the Lord to provide 100% of the finances for me? Well, HE DID! My trip is fully paid for more than a week before I need the money! He is so faithful! He has proven Himself faithful as my provider when I let it go and put my trust in Him.

I hope and pray that these testimonies encourage you and strengthen your faith. He knows what you’re going through and what you need, so just talk to Him, surrender to Him, and watch His faithfulness unfold in your life. He is faithful. Always. It’s who He is, and He never changes.

“If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.”             -2 Timothy 2:13

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” -Hebrews 13:8

  1. You are a woman of great courage. It can be terrifying to open up doors that we have closed off in our soul. Places that we have deemed to be ‘taken care of’ or ‘dealt with’. I love your heart, Rachael–<3
