Pearl Street Evangelism

Today our team went out to Pearl Street in downtown Boulder to share the love of Jesus, give words of encouragement/prophecies, pray for healing for the sick, and share the gospel with anyone and everyone that the Lord put in our path. Some of us had done this type of thing before, but many of us were totally new to it and kinda nervous about it. However, the Lord was so gracious to us! He gave us boldness and courage, and everyone on our team ministered to someone in some way on the streets today. At the end of the day, our team was edified and encouraged and totally fired up to go at it again tomorrow. I’ll share a couple highlights from the day.

For me personally, I felt like the Lord gave me so much confidence in sharing His love with people. At first, I went out with some “experienced” people in our group (we divided up into teams of 2-3 people to evangelize) in order to “learn the ropes” and have someone there to initiate conversation with the ones we were approaching (the most intimidating part for me), and then I had the opportunity to share a word or pray if I had something for them. This was such a blessing! After talking with a few different people, I was so excited and encouraged. In fact, by the middle of the day the Lord gave me the boldness to approach a woman and talk with her without anyone else doing any talking. He also opened up the door for me to pray for her, and even though I didn’t get to share the Gospel with her, I walked away knowing that she experienced the love of Christ and that seeds were planted that the Lord will totally water and grow in the future! :)

Another really fun thing was when our whole team joined together and worshiped right in the center of Pearl Street together! We had a couple of guitars with us, and some of the people in our group were just messing around and playing some stuff to draw people in on a park bench during the morning. As we neared the lunch hour, our team had planned to meet back up at that park bench and then head out to have lunch together. Well, as handfuls of our group made their way to our meeting place, we all joined in worship. One of our team members initiated by opening up her Bible and singing through some of Genesis 1. This turned into singing the popular song “How He Loves” which grew bigger and louder as more of our team gathered in and joined in singing, and after that we sang “I’ve Got a River Of Life”. Finally we ended  with many people on our team singing their testimonies. There’s a chorus around IHOP-KC that goes like this, “I’ve got a testimony ’bout Jesus. He carries me through my worst storms. I only call on Jesus. I’m leaning on His everlasting arms!” A number of people in our group began to sing their testimonies, and when they were finished we would sing the chorus again, then open it up for another person to sing their testimony. It was a powerful time of LOUDLY proclaiming the transforming power of Jesus in our lives, and we definitely got the attention of a lot of passerby’s. Some of them seemed to be put off by it, but we didn’t let that shut us up. In the end, tons of people heard about Jesus, so it was pretty successful if you ask me! :D

Finally, amongst our whole team, there were countless numbers of people who were prayed for and ministered to. By the end of the day we had seen numerous healings and salvations. The Lord was faithful to us as we stepped out in faith and trusted in Him. We all left Pearl Street today with powerful testimonies and increased faith and boldness to share the Gospel. Tomorrow we’re going back for round two, so please pray that the Lord would give us divine appointments, increased boldness to reach out to the lost, and that we would see many more healed and saved!

  1. I just read and posted Psalm 26:7-8 “I will go about Thine altar O LORD, that I MAY PROCLAIM WITH THE VOICE OF THANKSGIVING AND DECLARE ALL THY WONDERS…” Hahaha!!!! That’s just what your blog says that you did in the park, “I got a testimony ’bout JESUS…”
So awesome! I was feeling your excitement as I read it, just like I sense when I read in the gospel how after Jesus sent out the disciples to heal the sick, cast out demons, and proclaim the gospel they came back all fired up and excited too. Luke 10:17-20 …”nevertheless, rejoice that YOUR names are recorded in heaven.”

The LORD of the harvest bless you as you go into His harvest field. May many hearts be awakened to His love and salvation. LORD, bring forth Your Bride out of darkness and into Your marvelous light on Pearl Street today. Anoint Your messengers with holy fire and boldness today. Release Your passion and Your power through them and manifest Your coming Kingdom through signs and wonders of healing and deliverances that will lead the people to repentance and salvation today. Prepare and make ready the people of Pearl Street for the Day of the LORD. amen.
